The Pilgrims meet each Friday in Term Time from 1.30 pm until 3 pm in the St. James Community Centre, on High Street (opposite the Church).
They are open to all pre school children (under 5), no matter how young,to help carers meet with other carers, while the children enjoy playing, and learning to mix with other children. Meanwhile the carers enjoy a well earned rest and chat. The sessions finish with a sing, a prayer, and then a cup of tea (for the carers), juice and a snack for the children.
The Little Pilgrims are an initiative of the Mothers Union (see below), organised & led by them.

Little Pilgrims started in 2007 as one of these community initiatives.
Arising from a national MU Initiative 1st Anniversary of Baptism Cards are issued by a parish member, funded by the MU Branch.
They also knit baby garments for the West Cumberland Hospital Special Care Baby Unit, and make 'crosses of love', which are placed in the Baptistry for those who need them for loved ones, or as an aid to personal prayer.
